This site is very homely, like their home with a field first and a campsite second. They do food at the house in the evenings, so we'll probably try some local fare later.
Today has continued to be an exploration...we went to Kolovorat- part of the walk of peace and wandered over some beautiful hillsides where marks of the Italian trenches still exist and some have been brilliantly restored over the caves used by soldiers at the time. Part of the walk went over the Italian border, so we've been to Italy today too! The drive up there was another breathtaking view of mountain and river.
We are navigating by paper road map and I am a bit proud that we got here without being lost at all! Probably down to the efficiency of Slovene road signs rather than anything else. I will be driving with window up in future after getting a bee sting in the neck at high speed today! Ouch. With fast application of meds it wasn't to bad at all!
